Cycle 3 CD9

on July 17, 2012

I used my first digital opk this month.  It was negative, obviously, but it’s still a bit exciting!  Have also been collecting my wee for the Clearblue study, that’s not so much fun!

I think my body is playing tricks on me already this cycle though.  I have watery cm, my cervix is high and my boobs are tender.  Not sure what that’s all about as I never get tender boobs!  Seeing as I didn’t ovulate until CD30 last cycle, and the earliest I’ve ever ov’d while I’ve been tracking it was CD22 (with my daughter) I don’t think I’m likely to ov anytime soon.

We’ll see.

Hey there! I recently started my own blog about ttc. I have a few questions for you, if you don’t mind me asking 🙂 I noticed that you have long cycles, but it seems like you’re pretty sure that you ovulate. When you conceived your first child, did you have long cycles too? Are yours usually consistent or all over the place? Did you ever get diagnosed with PCOS?
Personally, for the past 2 years we have been preventing pregnancy as we get our life together, but I’ve been off the pill and monitoring. My cycles average about 43 days in length. I have never done any OPKs but am going to start this month.
I saw my obgyn who thinks “I’m not ovulating” but I don’t think I was ever diagnosed with PCOS, don’t have any of the other symptoms, etc. I’m seeing an acupuncturist now who is trying to work with me to shorten my cycles. Seeing your blog and that you have long cycles just gives me a glimmer of hope that maybe I could get pregnant too.

      Hi, thanks for reading.

I was very lucky with my daughter and conceived on out 3rd cycle ttc. My first cycle was around 45 days long followed by a 92 day cycle and the cycle we conceived would have been about 36 days.

We’re on cycle 3 this time around, following an 88 day cycle and a 42 day one last time. I didn’t ovulate in the 88 day cycle but it was my first cycle after coming off the contraceptive pill so wasn’t too worried.

I’d been on birth control since I was 16 but I don’t remember having irregular cycles before then so I think in my case it may just be the contraceptive pill that’s messed my hormones around.

43 day cycles, while being frustrating, don’t necessarily mean you’re not ovulating. Have you tried BBT charting? I find that really useful in knowing what my body is up to.

      Good luck!
